Born from the creative mind of Lawson Gems founder Charles Lawson, the "Illusion Opal" is a artistic new avenue in the world of opal cutting. With a desire to create something never seen before, Charles has created the composite stones with a marriage of high quality Australian crystal opal and Tanzanian illusion sunstone. The resulting piece is a dazzling gem that exhibits the optical phenomena of both opal and sunstone, not just on opposing sides of the piece but even as the piece is viewed from its opal top the fire of the opal merges with the aventurescene of the sunstone. Charles first began experimenting with this process back in 2016 and has finally brought a stunning collection to the market.
