8.04ct Free-form Australian Jelly/Boulder Opal Cabochon

This absolutely stunning jelly opal has a magical appearance with pieces of boulder suspended in its fiery blue green depths. The piece shifts between fine blue and green fire and shifts in perceived body colour depending on lighting conditions, as you can especially see in the last picture when light is passed through the stone from the back. This stone really is a collectors piece and will make a fabulous piece of jewellery or a great collection piece! It was formed in an opalized wood deposit in Winton, Australia, where old branches and debris have been replaced by opal forming beautifully elegant opal specimens.

The piece was cut in house at our Brisbane Arcade store.
